CV summary

After studying Theoretical Physics at Leiden University and a short interlude in which I worked for an advertising agency, I started my Physics career as a high school teacher in Almelo, teaching Physics and Science.
In 1997 I was hired by Cor Blom to join his Institute of Physics Education and teach Physics at the University of Twente. I returned to research in 2000 and joined the Physics of Fluids group of Detlef Lohse, where I obtained my PhD degree in 2004 and am still working to date.
